Backup Generators
FPL Home Services provides the entire solution for a homeowner’s need for a generator. The program pulls permits for installation, takes care of fuel supply and installs the backup generator. There are no surprises for homeowner’s regarding cost. Financial details are provided upfront.

Installation time varies, and is dependent on several factors, including the following:

  • - The workload of the governing authority (Issuance of permits, inspections)
  • - Weather conditions (begin early to avoid interruptions during hurricane season)
  • - Availability of generator and related equipment from suppliers.
Most manufacturers recommend preventative maintenance every 6 months, full maintenance and fluid change following 24-hours of continuous operation, and full service of the generator following 200 hours of operation. See the accompanying manufacturer’s manual for complete service details of your new generator.
The generator may be placed anywhere on the side of your house 10 feet away from any opening window or door. Homeowners may choose to place the generator anywhere on the property that meets state and local codes, but the cost may be higher. Request a site-visit with a technician who will provide dimensions.
Emergency service is available only on generators that have a yearly maintenance agreement by FPL Home Services.

FPL Home Services offers installation, repair and maintenance services for all A/C makes and models.
We install and repair all A/C makes and models. The main brands include, but are not limited to, Carrier, Daikin, Rheem and York.
FPL Home Services installs and repairs all interior plumbing pipes, fixtures, water heaters, garbage disposals, dishwashers, sump pumps and more.
FPL Home Services installs and repairs all interior and exterior electrical wiring and fixtures, lighting, surge protectors, circuits, TV mounts, motion sensor lighting, pool/hot tub/spa wiring, and more.
Yes. FPL Home Services offers three different A/C membership plans, one electrical membership plan and one plumbing membership plan. You can subscribe to any or all trades. The membership plan provide regularly scheduled maintenance service on the system(s) for longer equipment life, discounts on parts, inspections, and/or tune-ups.
Service call fee: $89 trip fee + cost of repair. If FPL Home Services is quoting new equipment installations pre-replacement, we will go out free of charge. Such equipment includes new electrical panels, A/C units and water heaters.

A/C: 60-point tune-up – a thorough inspection of both your indoor and outdoor unit including, checking Freon levels, check electrical components, check filter and more.

Electrical safety check: includes checking the breaker panel, all light fixtures, and more.

Plumbing inspection: includes flushing the water heater, checking toilets, flappers, faucets, and more.

Every home is different so FPL Home Services cannot give any prices before sending a technician out to a home. We do not charge by the hour but rather the job. When a technician comes to your home, he or she will complete an inspection and provide you the price upfront. If you agree to it, we can typically begin work immediately.
FPL Home Services is licensed, bonded and insured to perform air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical services. Our technicians are highly trained to be courteous, prompt and transparent in their work. They will respect your property’s cleanliness by wearing shoe covers and vacuuming up any dust and debris left from the job.

FPL Home Services offers various manufacturer warranties depending on the make and model of the installation. FPL Home Services warrants repair parts and labor up to 30 days from the date of repair completion.
Most homeowners’ insurance policies do not cover repairs or installations of air conditioners, plumbing or electrical components that fail due to normal wear and tear.
An air conditioning professional should inspect your A/C system twice a year.
With the increased use of A/C units in Florida, it is recommended that you change your filters every few months, especially if there are any pets and persons who suffer from allergies in the home. If there is limited use of your A/C and other factors do not apply, then filters can be changed every 90 days.
